PROJECT CONTEXT

Local development & validation

FOCUS

FastAPI · PostgreSQL · MinIO

01 / THE OVERVIEW

From application code to a portable environment.

A containerized development environment for a menu application, bringing together an API, database, product-image storage, and an administration interface.

A food-business application needed local development and validation, with a deployment approach intended for later delivery to a client VPS.

02 / MY CONTRIBUTION

The work behind it.

  1. 01

Containerized the FastAPI backend and PostgreSQL services with Docker Compose.

  2. 02

Configured service health checks and container networking.

  3. 03

Integrated product-image storage with an existing MinIO environment.

  4. 04

Supported a Next.js admin interface with authentication and category/product management.

  5. 05

Validated backend health and API access locally; used Cloudflare Tunnel for development exposure.

03 / THE APPROACH

Connecting the pieces.

01Admin interface
02FastAPI API
03PostgreSQL + MinIO

Keep development simple while designing for portability. Reuse existing local storage during development and define a Docker-image delivery path for the client.

04 / RESULT & SCOPE

What this demonstrates.

Validated backend health and API functionality in the local Docker environment, with service networking, database integration, and object storage. The deployment approach was prepared for a future client VPS rollout.

RELEVANCE TO YOUR PROJECT

Relevant to Docker Compose environments, application deployment, API/database integration, object storage, and local development setup.

Project details are summarized from development work. No private repository content, access tokens, or client data are exposed.
